Mapsource is my preferred way to create routes, probably because I've done it this way for more than a decade now. That is why I carefully select intersections from the right-click list now. It will endeavor to route you to that position, even if it is on the other side of a divided highway, or a bit off the road.
With Mapsource, the specific viapoint or waypoint location is critical, as the software thinks you mean where you place that mark. Nav IV recalculation works just fine too.
